A triumphant fourth place finish at Flamboro!

Posted: 29 June 2014

Millgrove, ON – The second race of the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup (L.O.S.C.) series at Flamboro Speedway proved to be another great show for racing fans.  The L.O.S.C. feature 100 lap race leaves no room for doubt: Doug Cathcart Owner/Driver of the #48 Pontiac Grand Prix is a serious L.O.S.C. contender.

“The car is running great,” said Cathcart.  “A bit of fine tuning required between races and some cosmetic damage from Sauble, but overall, we’re pleased with the car’s performance!  At Sauble Speedway we showed fans that a top 5 was well within our grasp and today’s fourth place finish is further proof that we are gathering momentum.”

The Cathcart Mechanical Performance #48 Pontiac Grand Prix captured a solid fourth place finish at Flamboro Speedway.  The warm temperature and sunny clear blue skies foreshadowed a day of hot racing.  Flamboro fans filled the track grandstands to watch the first of four series races at this track.

After two short 12 lap practice sessions, and a few minor adjustments to the car, Cathcart qualified and started the 100 lap race in seventh place.  While there were only three cautions during the 100 laps, quite a few cars experienced difficulties at the Flamboro track.  With only five laps to go and the threat of losing a rear end gear, Cathcart held on and captured a fourth place finish.

Team 48 is certainly off to a great start in 2014, steadily gaining ground with the Cathcart Mechanical Performance Inc. Pontiac Grand Prix.  “Behind any successful driver is the team’s Crew Chief and Team 48 is proud to have a top notch experienced and knowledgeable leader to take us onward and upward”, Cathcart said of his stellar Crew Chief Rob Snippe.

The next L.O.S.C. event will be held in Team 48’s hometown of Ottawa, ON.  “We anticipate many family members and friends in attendance and we plan to make it another good one!”

Saturday, July 5th the L.O.S.C. cars are racing at Capital City Speedway, Ottawa, ON.   Pit gates open at 10:30 AM and racing starts at 2 PM.

See you at the track!
